Quetzalcoatl (, ; Spanish: Quetzalcóatl pronounced [ketsalˈkoatl] (listen); Classical Nahuatl: Quetzalcōātl [ket͡saɬ’koːaːt͡ɬ] (modern Nahuatl pronunciation ), in honorific form: Quetzalcōātzin) is a deity in Aztec culture and literature whose name comes from the Nahuatl language and means “Precious serpent” or “Quetzal-feathered Serpent”.
